Details

To address LP gas shortages in the Kathmandu Valley and promote clean domestic energy, the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation published a notice on 2083/06/03 inviting online applications. The initiative aims to provide electric cookstoves to 300 university students who belong to Dalit or endangered indigenous communities.

To be eligible, candidates must be pursuing higher education at the bachelor's or master's level in Kathmandu while living in rented rooms and hailing from outside the valley. Whether you are balancing daily living expenses while preparing for university exams using solved past questions for every BSc CSIT subject or revising with solved past questions for every BIT subject, this scheme offers practical support to help reduce monthly household costs.

Applications must be filled online via the dedicated AEPC portal at https://mis.aepc.gov.np:1415/ before the deadline of Asoj 8 at 2:00 PM. Submissions must include copies of the Nepali citizenship card, institutional recommendation letter, student ID, and documentation verifying membership in a Dalit or endangered indigenous community. Preference will be given to financially disadvantaged students studying in government or community colleges. Students who previously received a cookstove from AEPC are ineligible. For additional information, students can contact the AEPC Bioenergy Section in Tahachal, Kathmandu, at [email protected] or call 01-4598013 / 01-4598014.

What this means for students

Eligible students currently renting in Kathmandu should immediately obtain the official recommendation form from the AEPC website and collect the required caste and financial status verification from local authorities before the Asoj 8 cutoff.
