Education and Sports Minister Sasmita Pokharel announced during a consultation program in Janakpurdham that the government is actively revising the National Curriculum Framework 2076. A dedicated task force has been formed to gather recommendations from teachers, students, parents, and educational experts across all provinces. The goal is to align school education with current technological developments and modern learning demands.
The updated framework places a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence literacy and hands-on technical skills, moving the country away from purely textbook-centered learning. Curriculum Development Centre Executive Director Mahendra Parajuli confirmed that the task force is refining the framework based on stakeholder feedback to ensure effective implementation across Grades 1 to 12 in the upcoming academic session.
During the event, Madhes Province Education and Culture Minister Manoj Kumar Singh stressed the need for close coordination among federal, provincial, and local governments to improve educational standards, particularly in regions that lag behind. To support these reforms, the federal government is also drafting a School Education Act.
