Rector Prof. Dr. Jagannath Regmi and Registrar Prof. Dr. Nawaraj Kattel took their oaths of secrecy and formally assumed office during a ceremony held at the university central office in Beljhundi, Dang on Bhadra 26. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhim Prasad Khatiwada administered the oath during the official event, which was chaired by Tikaram Budha, Director of the National Culture Study Institute Centre.
The Prime Minister of Nepal, acting as Chancellor of the university, appointed the two officials following recommendations from a three-member committee coordinated by Prof. Dr. Madhav Sharan Upadhyay. During the assumption of office, Rector Regmi stated his focus would remain on driving academic progress and dynamism. Registrar Kattel expressed his commitment to operating with transparency, institutional impartiality, and resolving the operational difficulties faced by Gurukuls.
Nepal Sanskrit University currently oversees 14 constituent Vidyapeethas in addition to several affiliated campuses and over 200 evaluated Gurukuls.
