Details
Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel held a discussion with representatives from Injured Gen Z Nepal, the Gen Z Martyr Families Welfare Society, and the Gen Z Coordination Struggle Committee. During the meeting, the minister emphasized that the government will facilitate educational institutions to ensure that eligible children and family members receive their entitled financial support without obstacles.
To ensure a smooth rollout, the ministry is formulating necessary implementation criteria and working alongside major private school associations including PABSON, N-PABSON, and HISAN. Minister Pokharel noted that the existing mandatory 10 percent scholarship provision in private schools must be utilized effectively for this group.
Badal Rai, coordinator of Injured Gen Z Nepal, urged the ministry to simplify administrative procedures so eligible students can enroll easily. During the interaction, representatives also suggested incorporating topics related to the promotion of local products into school textbooks and called for stronger coordination between federal, provincial, and local governments.
This initiative follows the approval of the 'Guidelines for Providing Free Education to Families of GEN Z Movement Martyrs and the Injured, 2083.' Under these rules, family members of martyrs as well as individuals who suffered serious or critical injuries during the movement are eligible for tuition-free education up to the bachelor's degree level. University-bound students preparing for technical courses can prepare ahead using solved past questions for every BSc CSIT subject to build a strong foundation.
What this means for students
